SATURDAY 20th JUNE 2009 - VENUE: COMBER REC SEMI - FINAL Ards Youth 2-1 Ballywalter Scorers: Rhys Mackie & Patrick Cafolla M.O.M.: Patrick Cafolla FINAL Ards Youth 2-0 Portaferry Scorers: Rhys Mackie 2 M.O.M.: Rhys Mackie Congratulations and well done boys. A fantastic final day performance you proved to everyone you were the team to beat. Edward Muldrew was outstanding in goals when needed but of course there were two boys in front of him that made sure he had an easy time, namely Brent Ritchie & Aaron Mae. Patrick Cafolla ran the show in midfield and our two wingers Matthew Guest & James Boyd caused all sorts of problems for the opposition. Then up front, what can I say, he's in P6 and will be able to play again next year. Rhys Mackie scored both goals in the final and scored 19 goals throughout the tournament. Alex Majury came on for Matthew Guest in the final and played well out on the left wing. The two subs not used were Matthew Cunningham again only in P6 and will be able to play next year. He done his bit to get the team to the final and Ryan Hannah who also had a big hand in the boys getting to the final who scored 3 goals and assisted in 5. Well done again boys you are all a great bunch of boys and deserved to win for all the hard work you all put in throughout the weeks. |

Well done to the 1999s on their Portadown FC Youth Shield win. The boys went unbeaten all day along with Portadown Youth and brought home one of four trophies up for grabs. The team won the Shield and went through with Castle Juniors, Portadown Boys and Hillsborough Boys as runner up in their groups. Ards beat Portadown Boys 3-0 in their semi and faced a strong Hillsborough boys side in the final. The young Ards Youth won 3-1 with a D. Annett hat trick. Well done to all the boys who have progressed very well indeed. Click on image for pictures from the day. |

On Sunday 31st May 2009, Jim Nelson and coaches entered 2 teams into the 7 a side Tournament run by Carryduff Colts at Loughmoss Leisure Complex.
Both teams topped their groups respectively by beating such teams on their way as Lisburn Distillery, Ballywalter, Holywood and hosts Carryduff Colts. They roared their way to meet each other in an all Ards Youth Final which both teams performed an excellent show of football that ended in a 1-1 draw .Thankfully both teams shared the winner's title. A special mention to all the support Ards Youth had on the day from parents, grandparents, friends and family. |
